Often times a displacement sensor is selected by looking at its cost performance characteristics. The Panasonic HL-G1 has very impressive specifications as to accuracy, speed and resolution, but it is quite economical. It would be very hard to find another proven product on the market that combines all these aspects in one sensor. With the recent addition of the HL-G125 version to the family of products there is a wide range of sensing distances and incredible resolutions.
