Littelfuse has greatly enhanced its product offering from one of the world’s largest producers of fuses and fuse accessories to include a broad line of protection relays. One of these relays is its PGR-880 arc flash protection relay. Basically, this relay has up to six light sensing sensor in puts as well as a current sensor input. If any of the sensors detect a flash, the relay sends a signal to the breaker to shut down within a millisecond. This relay can reduce the arc flash hazard substantially and save you from injury to personnel and damage to plant and equipment.
